--------Page Break--------- Background Info As a student I would say I do pretty well. I attended OJH before I came to Sandburg. Then I made the worst mistake in my scholastic career I took the MESH program, the biggest waste of time ever. Also, because of their stupid group project, my grade always went down by two letter grades in Algebra. Next year I'm going to take Adv. Algebra so I'm caught up with my fellow classmates. As a person I believe that I have matured quite a lot in my Sophomore year. I mean I take responsibility for my actions instead of trying to blame it on something stupid like the school. Also, I have came across many "policies" that I now live by such as "The only one you lie to when you lie is yourself". My interests as of now vary . One thing I'm kind of into is computer graphics and 3D development (see cover and attached examples) The programs I use for this range from Adobe Photoshop to Rhino 3D , an experimental C.A.D program that allows you to create easily rotated 3D models. Also I'm into sound development as well like synthesizing and creation. --------------Page Break-------------- Explanation of 2 topics we covered First topic that we covered that I think I learned
the most from is the Pythagorean theorem. Even
though I'm not quite sure how the a simple formula
applies to a triangle . It works that's all I can say.

The Pythagorean theorem is A² + B² = C²
The use of it is the find the missing side of a
triangle without having to measure it out.

Example

To solve this problem you would do the following equation
3² + 5² = x²
9 + 25 = x²
34 = x²
5.83= x

---------------Page Break------------------ The topic I found to be the least bit interesting
was where we had to use one angle to figure
out another. To me that seemed to be useless
at the time, when in real life if I wanted to find
the angle of something I could just use a compass.

An example of this is in the diagram shown below

In this problem x would equal 60°. To me this
type of geometry is pointless because you can tell by
looking at it what it going to be and then using simple math.
I think I could have done better at this if I paid attention and
used formulas instead of just looking at it (even though I was right
most of the time)

------Page Break------ Evaluation In my opinion I did pretty well in your class other then the fact that I rarely did homework. Also I put in as much effort as I think I could into your class though there were times when I went I didn't do much. But for the most part I did . I feel I could have done better in your class by doing the homework. In class I feel relaxed for the most part. This of this because your class didn't feel like a regular class room, maybe this was because of your teaching or maybe it was Fitz making jokes in the back of the room. I don't know. I don't feel that any kid enjoys coming to class but over time you learned that it's required and you do so because you have to. Most of the time I was prepared for class (except for homework) This class was in general a waste of time for me. But this isn't because of your teaching though. It is because of the fact that in drafting I had to learn basic drafting and that is all you taught till almost the very end of fourth quarter. My goals at the beginning of the year were to pass this class and get placed into Adv. Algebra. Both goals were met so I would have to say "Yes , yes indeed, my goals were met." ----------Page Break--------- In my humble opinion you were a good teacher, you just got stuck with some bad students. Not really bad students just students who stopped caring after first quarter. I think you presented the class pretty well even though you did trail off on side conversations a lot. In general your teaching methods/abilities were pretty good when people wanted to listen. Your attitude was pretty enthusiastic most of the time (except when the class got to loud.) Also your organization was decent except for one time when you lost an assignment I had given you to check. But that's besides the point. I think you could improve on your professionalism though. When you start to get mad and lecture us on behavior and how we are acting that's not very professional. What you should do in those situations is just start writing people up. That works a lot better then lecturing for half the period. My advice to a friend that was taking you class would have to be simply "make sure you keep your notes up to date and DO ALL YOUR HOMEWORK." I think you are a pretty good teacher. A few positive things you do is you try not to bore the class with useless lecture as much as possible (except for sin cosin and tangent). Also you almost always start class on time which normally gives us half the period to do are work or nothing. The only thing I didn't like about your style is the fact that you tend to rattle on about stuff not related to the subject. I don't mind that so much it's just that you take up the entire period doing it.
